Students to lead J-Night: A celebration of youth journalism in NYC and a vision for tomorrow

Students, Council Members, CUNY Newmark J-School, and the NYC Youth Journalism Coalition unveil a citywide initiative to make NYC the youth media capital of the country.

Student leaders from the NYC Youth Journalism Coalition will bring together a diverse group of student and adult journalists, policymakers, nonprofits, and teachers to explore the inequity of who gets to report in NY, and how students are envisioning a future where every NYC high school student gets the chance to participate in high school journalism. J-Night will feature an evening of film, discussion, and interactive conversations led by students, with special guests including Nikole Hannah-Jones and Council Member Rita Joseph.

Where: Frank A Bennack, Jr. Theater at The Paley Center, New York, NY

Media are invited to attend. Students will be on hand to speak on the record, as will leaders from CUNY Newmark J-School and Council members.
